How authors are paid
Scitrino pays its authorsYour institution pays the publication fee to Scitrino. Scitrino then pays part of that revenue to the authors: each published paper earns 100 points, shared between its authors with a double share for the lead author. Each month, a share of the publication fees received that month forms the author pool, and the pool is divided across the points earned in that month. Points are frozen for six months after a paper goes live, then paid out monthly.

The rules
- Points are awarded only once a paper is published and its publication fee has been received.
- If a paper is retracted because of an honest error, its points are removed.
- If an investigation finds misconduct, the authors responsible lose three times the points the paper earned. Deductions larger than a balance are taken from future earnings.
- Points never influence editorial or peer-review decisions.
- Individual earnings are private. Only the totals on this page are public.
